The Daegeum, together with the Junggeum and the Sogeum, is mentioned as one of three important flutes of the United Silla period, and it has remained mained a dominant instrument in Korea.

Cheong Gong: the hole for vibration
Ji Gong: the holes for fingers
Chilsong Gong: the hole for seven stars

("Gong" usually means the 'hole'.)
